A Fallen Race

 History has failed women

Religion has failed women

But most importantly men have failed women
Evolution tells us that we were originally their protectors and providers, their source of comfort and security, their safety and strength
But look at us now
We have fathers who contribute nothing but feel entitled to everything because they're the "man of the house"
There are those of them that take it up a notch by beating and raping their wives and then justify their heinous crimes by claiming propriety on another human being in the name of marriage and bride price
Then there's the elite group that rape and molest their own children, I'm pretty sure they've thought hard and long for a way to justify this one and came up short, so they just use good old societal stigma to keep them quiet and sweep it under the rug
And these are just the fathers
I don't know about the rest of the world but in Nigeria one in every five girls has either been raped or experienced a rape scare by the time they're 22, one in every three girls has experienced some form of sexual harassment by their second year in any higher institution, and every Nigerian girl knows another girl with a story of domestic abuse. Now these stats are not fact, I made them up based on a combination of my understanding of my society and the things I've seen and heard from reliable sources, this doesn't diminish the strength of my claims, I need but only a story that happened recently to support my claims.
A 12 year old girl was raped by 11 men in the north.
This is so outrageous and brings up so many equally incredulous questions that it's almost unbelievable, but it happened and the only thing I'm taking away from this to support my claim is that there were 11 rapists at the same time, at the same place with the exact same intention.....

The Living Death (1 of 2)

 One of the scariest things about the concept of marriage as a lifetime commitment is what I call 'The Living Death'.  This is basically losing a part of yourself due to certain circumstances.
